Compressed Air Foam Systems

Compressed Air Foam Systems, though complex and historically difficult to modulate the air compression, water, and foam while on the scene, is now simplified through the state-of-the-art technology within the Rapid CAFS. With Rapid CAFS, the ease of operation and benefit of CAFS has finally outweighed the cost.

Spartan's Rapid CAFS are capable of generating air flows from 140 to 250 cubic feet per minute in PTO driven configurations. The engine driven system is capable of air capacities of 135 cubic feet per minute, while generating 185 gpm of water flow. Each system is capable of producing compressed air foam with both Class A and Class B foam (depending on the use of the foam system).

Rapid CAFS

The Rapid CAFS standard system allows fire fighters more control of the CAFS final wet or dry product through the use of a simple CAFS toggle switch. State-of-the-art electronics are built into the standard system just as in the One-Touch RAPID CAFS to allow you to focus on the scene more, and your manual calculations less.

3 Simple Steps to Flow CAFS

  1. Engage air compressor
  2. Open water valve with wet/dry CAFS switch (this will automatically engage foam system)
  3. Bring throttle to approximately 100 PSI (or normal pumping pressure)

* Adjust wet/dry CAFS with electronic switch technology

Rapid CAFS: Pump and Roll

Pump and Roll Operations

  1. Open tanke to pump line
  2. Prime the pump
  3. Turn PTO engage switch on
  4. Open valve

* Control bumper turret with joy stick

One-Touch CAFS

The One-Touch RAPID CAFS is easy to use and requires only one additional step in the pump-engage process. It simplifies the regulation of wet or dry CAFS, a fire fighting need that is otherwise manual, difficult and time consuming without the Spartan CAFS. The simplicity and reliability it provides compliments the flow of water by enabling the electrical system to automatically actuate the injection of foam and air using state-of-the-art electronics and exclusive plumbing design/engineering.

1 Simple Step to Flow CAFS

  1. Press One-Touch button to engage CAFS (this will automatically engage foam system and inject air into appropriate discharge)

* Adjust wet/dry CAFS by gating the water valve and maintaining pressure
